JUSTIN SAYRE

I'll call you whatever you want, 'cause God knows I love to be called Elizabeth Taylor.

Justin Sayre embodies everything The Out Line was created to celebrate.

Comedian, storyteller, performance artist, singer, activist and now primetime TV sitcom writer, Justin channels his multitude of talents into art that makes you think beyond the surface.

We first fell in love with Justin at one of his cleverly-constructed variety shows, The Meeting* of the International Order of Sodomites. Each month, he convenes this "centuries-old secret organization of homosexuals and their friends that sets the mythic gay agenda." Through comedy and song, he enchants and then challenges us to think critically about our own LGBT community and the many agendas within.

Justin invited us into his Brooklyn home where we talked camp, community, and his creative practice. Since this interview, Justin has adopted a bicoastal lifestyle writing for CBS' 2 Broke Girls in LA while still hosting monthly Meetings in NYC.

We're pretty sure that once you start watching Justin, you won't be able to stop.
